How do you deal with a crying baby?

 crying

It is a type of expression that is issued by a person, as a result of his exposure to external stimuli, such as: feeling pain for an accident, the death of a loved one, or failure in a certain thing. These stimuli affect the internal feelings, which cause tears to flow, which are: a salty liquid flowing from the eyes, and the degree of crying depends on the person's readiness for it, and its effect on him, and is mainly related to the nature of the situation in which he is.

Children cry a lot

A child's crying is a way to express his various needs, such as the need for food, or feeling a certain pain, and is associated with the first years of his life when he is unable to speak, so crying is used as a way to communicate with his parents and the people around him.

The degree of crying strength varies depending on the nature of the thing the child is asking for, and he stops crying when his request is carried out, but sometimes he may continue crying for, and without reason, especially children who are over two years old; Because they gain new communication abilities, such as saying some unintelligible words, or pointing by hand at things they want.

When a child at the age of more than two years resorts to continuous, and sometimes annoying, crying, then he forces his parents to choose one of the following two options:

●Yielding to the cause of the child's crying, which may lead to him being spoiled too much, and related to this method of gaining the sympathy of his parents, and their approval of the thing he wants.

●Reprimanding him by screaming and sometimes hitting, which makes him increase his intensity, and the degree of crying, which causes embarrassment to them, especially while they are in a public place

Parents must choose the appropriate method that contributes to stopping the child from crying, and reduce his use of him as an aid in complaining and insisting on his position, which contributes to correcting and directing his behavior in a sound and correct manner.

How to deal with a crying baby

There are a number of methods that help in dealing with a crying child, including:

Not giving in to the child's request

When the child's request is approved, he will continue to follow the same method every time he refuses his request at first, so he should not bow to him, no matter how hard he tries, and this helps reduce his crying gradually after he feels that crying is not useful.

Avoid showing emotions

The mother is often affected by her child's tears, and she may embrace him, and ask him to stop crying, but this may lead to a negative result, motivating the child to continue crying for a longer time, until his request is implemented.

Sitting in the place of punishment

It is one of the useful educational means in dealing with the crying child when he is asked to sit in the place of punishment, such as entering his room, and not leaving it for half an hour, as this helps to ignore his crying, so he feels that this method is not useful.

Teach him the right way to order

Here, the parents are keen to teach their child the correct way to ask for the things he wants, such as: saying them with an appropriate volume of voice, and his acceptance of delaying the implementation of what he wants for some reason, which contributes to making him stay away from crying a lot.

 Finding suitable alternatives

The child’s request may be inappropriate for certain reasons, such as not having the right time, or not being suitable for his age. It is possible to find suitable alternatives that make him change his mind about the thing he wants, such as buying toys for him.

 Avoid anger, irritability

Parents should avoid screaming and getting angry as much as possible while dealing with a crying baby; Because this leads to an increase in his crying, and not to stop him, and you must try to leave the child, and not enter into an argument with him so that this does not lead to an increase in the severity of the problem.
